The ROSEBUD competition and festival was founded in 1990 to promote the rich and diverse independent film and video community in Washington, Maryland and Virginia. Named in honor of Citizen Kane, our goal is to honor the innovative, experimental, unusual or deeply personal in creative film and making. Through our annual competition, theatrical and cable television showcases, Rosebud nominated artists are given new opportunities for public and professional exposure.
Whether you are an established filmmaker or an artist on the edge, we want to see your work! Drama, documentary, animation, video art, music video, works in progress and works that defy categorization are all welcome. Eligible entrants are producers or directors who are current residents of DC, MD, or VA, although the films/videos need not have been produced in these states.
All entrants receive a free one-year membership in Arlington Independent Media. AIM provides its members with state of the art video production facilities, a full range of basic and advanced production courses and free airtime on channel 69 Arlington, Virginia's nationally recognized public access channel. |
