Angela Adams

Angela Adams was appointed to the position of Director of Community Arts for the Arlington County Cultural Affairs Division in July 1996. She previously served as gallery director of the Ellipse Arts Center, also in Arlington County.  Adams came to the Ellipse from the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) in Washington, D.C.   Adams has produced numerous exhibitions as an independent curator, including projects for Washington Project for the Arts, Hand Workshop, McLean Project for the Arts, Arlington Arts Center and the University of Maryland, College Park and Baltimore Campuses.   She holds a B.A. in Art History from the College of Wooster, Wooster, Ohio, and a M.A. degree in the History of Art from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Adams was born and raised in Washington, D.C.


Soledad Campos

Soledad Campos is an actress and producer. Locally she has appeared at GALA Hispanic Theatre, The Shakespeare Theatre, The Kennedy Center and Cherry Red Productions. She is the founding director of "Encuentros: Latino America at the Smithsonian," a performing arts series that highlights the history and contributions of Latinos in the United States.


Ed Check

Ed Check is currently the Art Director for HBO's comedy series Sex And The City. This will be his fourth season working on the show, which was nominated for an Emmy last year for best art direction. This past fall Ed also art directed the New York portion of Hal Hartley's upcoming movie Monster, which will be released sometime this year.  He has also worked as an assistant art director for a number of feature films including Spiderman, Family Man, Meet Joe Black, The First Wives Club, Batman Forever, Quiz Show and Six Degrees of Separation. He is a graduate from SUNY, Purchase and Yale University.


Reginald McNeely

Reginald McNeely is a MFA Graduate of Howard University with a degree in film and scriptwriting. After teaching third and tenth grades in Washington, DC, he moved to New York, where he worked as a social worker in the psychiatric and drug counseling fields.  While in New York, he produced and directed two Off-Broadway Shows. Reginald has produced and directed two short films, The Death of David Sr. and Grandma's Hands.  His documentary Nefertiti's Breasts, was a 2000 ROSEBUD Festival Nominee.  


Irene Upshur

Irene Upshur is the Director of the Instructional Media Center at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. She received a BA in English from Old Dominion University, an MA in Film from American University, and is currently working toward a doctoral degree in higher education technology at George Washington University. During her career in television news and documentaries, Ms. Upshur received the best in show awards from the Associated Press Photographers of Virginia in the documentary, spot news, and lifestyle categories. She also received the Best Documentary award from United Press International of Virginia.  Current projects include continuing work on mixed media pieces that address violence in American society and the production of scripted video shorts using digital image gathering and digital editing.
